The Carpenter’s Shop Center is an out of school time program focusing on the whole family unit with year round services for children, youth & families
Out of School time services
- Over 120 students receive youth-guided academic, social and cultural opportunities that promote learning and self-esteem necessary for life-long success.
- Monday-Friday 3-6pm throughout Duval County Public School year
- We work with students from kindergarten-8th grade
Family Strengthening & Support
- We help connect parents to resources through referral services, and provide on-site services like family counseling & job training.

- The Carpenter’s Shop Center, through a partnership with Daniel Kids, provides a mental health therapist to work directly with children and families in individual and group settings.

Summer Camp
- Over 120 students are anchored in a safe and supportive program for 6 weeks with interactive academic activities, engaging field trips, and summer fun activities. Students acquire new skills, feel valued for who they are and develop a sense of belonging.
- Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
- We work with students from kindergarten-8th grade, with high school students volunteering
Special Curriculum
- STEM
- Our science class always has tons of fun with wacky science projects. Each year we offer a special new topic, recently with a focus on robotics and programming.
- Music
- Partnered with Cathedral Arts, we’re offering band and orchestra instruments to students 4 times a week.
- Life Skills Class
- Our rotating social and emotional learning curriculum focuses on important life skills.
- Literacy
- We take reading seriously! We offer both an in-house literacy class and weekly trips to the reading lab on Jacksonville University campus for one-on-one training with professionals.
